11.1 Autopilot / Autodosing

Clyr Autopilot uses true AI to determine what your equipment should be doing based on the pool's chemistry and previous operation history. Clyr's Autodosing uses Clyr's CO2 to automatically dose your pool to balance your pool's pH.

This is unique to Clyr and offers pool owners TRUE set and forget functionality when running their pool.

Here's what autopilot looks like when running:

In the picture above, the yellow line is the pump RPM on a pool and the Green curve is ORP. Autopilot automatically adjusts the pump speed to ensure that ORP stays in a healthy range. On this particular pool, the pump speed determines how much chlorine is being released from the chlorinator. Autopilot can keep a body of water near perfect with as little as a variable speed pump.

11.2 What's needed for Autopilot

In order to run Autopilot, you need to have

  • Minimum - variable speed pump in control mode and a Clyr pH/ORP/Temp sensor

  • Optional - salt cell

If you meet the criteria above, you need to go to "Settings->Autopilot" to configure autopilot.

At the top of the screen, you need to enable Autopilot. You can then change the minimum RPM you want the pump to run when it's trying to conserve energy, and you can select the desired ORP you would like to maintain in the pool. The above settings are recommended.

11.3 Autodosing

Clyr uses CO2 to balance pH. Using carbon dioxide (COβ‚‚) to control pool pH is a safer, more eco-friendly alternative to adding strong acids like muriatic acid. When COβ‚‚ is injected into the pool, it reacts with water to form carbonic acid, which lowers the pH without significantly increasing the water’s total dissolved solids. This method helps keep the pool’s chemistry stable, reduces storage and handling risks, and can be easier on swimmers’ skin and eyes. Overall, COβ‚‚ injection offers a gentler way to fine-tune pH and maintain a balanced, comfortable swimming environment.

In order to run Autodosing, you need the following:

  • Minimum - either a variable speed pump + Clyr pH/ORP/temp sensor - OR - a Clyr Filter pressure sensor and a Clyr pH/ORP/Temp sensor

To configure autodosing, go to "Settings->Autopilot" and enable autodosing. Select the equipment that will be used and the desired pH.

The dosing frequency in minutes is how often Clyr will analyze your pH and make a decision to dose CO2. 15 minutes is recommended for most pools.
