01 / Start with the right guide

Match your equipment

This guide concerns Clyr’s Hayward Omni pump selection and its supported pump communications interface. It does not mean Clyr can take over every Omni automation panel or every Hayward pump.

  1. 1Clyr app
  2. 2Clyr controller
  3. 3Pump communications interface

How the parts work together. This is a system overview, not a terminal wiring diagram.

02 / Get ready

Before you start

  • Record the equipment model, controller generation and installed software version. Use the matching product manuals.
  • Have a qualified installer isolate every relevant electrical supply and verify absence of voltage before opening equipment. Turning it off in the app does not isolate power.
  • Confirm plumbing, priming and the pool’s safe operating speed range before testing.

03 / One step at a time

Set it up

  1. Agree on who controls the pump

Record whether Clyr will control the pump or monitor a supported arrangement. Have the installer resolve any existing automation controller on the same interface before commissioning.

  2. Identify the physical pump

Record its model, communications interface and network/address assignment. Hardware identity and the address used on the bus are different: changing an address does not change which physical unit is connected.

  3. Add the correct interface

Open Settings β†’ Devices β†’ Add, then select the Clyr controller physically connected to this equipment. Open Pool Equipment and choose the item named below. App wording can vary by version.

Select Hayward Omni, then enter the network/address and pump settings supplied for the approved installation. Use an unmistakable name such as Pool Filter Pump.

  4. Check identity before scheduling

Issue one supervised start/change/stop sequence and observe the named pump. If another device responds or there is no response, stop commissioning and have the installer review identity and addressing.

  5. Make the schedule match the installation

After the manual checks pass, create the required event in Clyr. Review its start, finish and equipment settings. Keep heating and chlorination within verified pump operation; an overlapping schedule is not a safety interlock.

Follow the Clyr scheduling workflow. Select the equipment in this guide and use the times and settings commissioned for your pool.

04 / Prove the result

Check it works

A saved setting tells you what you requested. These checks tell you what the equipment actually did.

  • The selected pump starts and the actual pump speed changes when requested.
  • Water circulation is established and there are no equipment faults or leaks.
  • Stop produces the expected physical result. Any local pump override is understood.
  • The first scheduled event is observed at the equipment, not only in the app.

05 / Find the next useful check

If something is wrong

The device is saved, but it does not respond

Check the selected controller, equipment type, physical network and address against the installer’s record. Check the equipment’s own display for a fault. Isolate power before inspecting connections.

Manual control works, but the schedule does not

Check the event’s day, time, selected device and requested value. Check whether Manual or Service mode is overriding scheduled operation. Return to the intended mode and observe the next event.

06 / Save for later
