01 / Start with the right guide

Match your equipment

Use this guide for the approved AUX-controlled liquid dosing equipment shown in the Clyr tutorial. This is separate from a Madimack InverCHLOR salt-cell installation, which uses RS-485.

02 / Get ready

Before you start

  • Record the equipment model, controller generation and installed software version. Use the matching product manuals.
  • Have a qualified installer isolate every relevant electrical supply and verify absence of voltage before opening equipment. Turning it off in the app does not isolate power.
  • Record the chemical, concentration, pool volume and measured pump feed rate. Use tubing, containers, valves and injection fittings approved for that chemical.
  • Have the installer confirm flow interlocks, backflow/siphon protection and the required injection location. Follow the chemical supplier’s handling instructions; never combine chemicals.

03 / One step at a time

Set it up

  1. Prepare the pump and injection assembly

Have the installer mount the pump, identify inlet and outlet, and connect the chemical-compatible tubing and injection components according to the exact pump instructions. Check secure storage, tubing condition and leak prevention.

  2. Connect the approved AUX interface

With supplies isolated, have the installer connect the approved control interface to the intended AUX port. Verify polarity and accessory ratings from the actual labels. Keep separate load power out of the Clyr low-voltage enclosure.

  3. Name and map the dosing output

In Settings β†’ Devices, select the connected controller and add an Auxiliary Relay. Choose the Dosing subtype, name it for the actual chemical, and select the wired AUX port. Review before saving.

The clip shows the app fields in an unsaved demonstration. A matching name alone does not establish the wiring or the chemical being fed.

Choose Auxiliary Relay, name the unit, and select Dosing and the AUX port used by the installation. The source video uses an unsaved staging preview.

  4. Commission the dose and stopping behavior

Have the installer measure actual feed rate and establish pool-specific dosing limits, mixing time and permitted operating conditions. Verify that the intended pump starts and stops and that required flow interlocks work.

Only then configure the approved program or automatic dosing settings with valid chemistry feedback. Do not copy a sample pulse length or infer free chlorine from ORP alone.

  5. Observe the first operation and establish a routine

Watch the initial feed, inspect for leaks and verify the result with an independent water test after the specified mixing time. Record settings and set a maintenance routine for tubing, fittings, chemical supply and sensor checks.

Review circulation, leaks, the kit commissioning procedure and regular tubing checks before automatic dosing.

04 / Prove the result

Check it works

A saved setting tells you what you requested. These checks tell you what the equipment actually did.

  • The named output controls the intended chemical pump and stops it correctly.
  • The installer has verified feed rate, permitted operating conditions and shutdown behavior.
  • There are no leaks, uncontrolled siphoning or chemical-routing ambiguities.
  • Independent water testing confirms the result after the required mixing period.

05 / Find the next useful check

If something is wrong

The pump runs but no chemical moves

Stop the test. Check supply, tubing direction, priming, suction/injection components and the pump manual with the installer. Do not extend the run time to overcome an unknown blockage.

The reading is unexpected or changes too quickly

Pause dosing and check the water independently. Inspect calibration, chemical identity/concentration, actual feed rate and mixing before resuming.

06 / Save for later
