Madimack heat pumps
Use the shared Madimack heat-pump integration to select heating, cooling or automatic operation and verify the response.
01 / Start with the right guide
Match your equipment
Clyrโs tested Madimack heat-pump integration uses the Inver-series selection. Identify the exact model and control-board revision; heating-only and reversible units do not necessarily offer the same operating modes.

02 / Get ready
Before you start
- Record the equipment model, controller generation and installed software version. Use the matching product manuals.
- Have a qualified installer isolate every relevant electrical supply and verify absence of voltage before opening equipment. Turning it off in the app does not isolate power.
- Confirm the circulation pump runs and water is flowing before requesting heat, cooling or chlorination. Keep the manufacturerโs interlocks and flow protection in place.
- Have bypass position, water-flow requirements, temperature sensing and equipment clearances checked by the installer.
03 / One step at a time
Set it up
Record the installation settings
Record the approved RS-485 connection, network and Modbus address. Clyrโs heat-pump form accepts addresses 1โ16; the selected address must match the unit. Keep the manufacturerโs protection and shutdown requirements intact.
Add the heat pump
Open Settings โ Devices โ Add, then select the Clyr controller physically connected to this equipment. Open Pool Equipment and choose the item named below. App wording can vary by version.
Choose Heat Pump, then Madimack Inver-series. Give it a clear name, select the physical network and enter the matching Modbus address. Choose the commissioned temperature setpoint.
Choose a mode the unit supports
Use Heat for warming, Cool only on a cooling-capable unit, and Auto only where supported and commissioned. A selected mode is a request; temperature demand, flow, delays or a fault can keep the compressor idle.
Observe a complete operating response
With circulation established, select the commissioned mode and setpoint. Compare local mode, inlet/outlet temperature and fault indications with Clyr. Allow manufacturer-required delays; do not rapidly cycle power to force a start.
Make the schedule match the installation
After the manual checks pass, create the required event in Clyr. Review its start, finish and equipment settings. Keep heating and chlorination within verified pump operation; an overlapping schedule is not a safety interlock.

04 / Prove the result
Check it works
A saved setting tells you what you requested. These checks tell you what the equipment actually did.
- Clyr and the local display agree on the intended operating mode.
- Temperature readings are plausible and the unit responds when there is demand.
- Any defrost or protective delay is understood, rather than treated as a communication failure.
- OFF and the planned circulation/cooldown sequence are checked.
05 / Find the next useful check
If something is wrong
The device is saved, but it does not respond
Check the selected controller, equipment type, physical network and address against the installerโs record. Check the equipmentโs own display for a fault. Isolate power before inspecting connections.
Manual control works, but the schedule does not
Check the eventโs day, time, selected device and requested value. Check whether Manual or Service mode is overriding scheduled operation. Return to the intended mode and observe the next event.
