PAL / DMX lighting
Follow the PAL DMX tutorial from the communication connection to zones, colors and custom shows.
01 / Start with the right guide
Match your equipment
Use this guide for a PAL controller with the compatible DMX interface shown in the tutorial. Check its model and installation instructions. A PAL product without that interface is not covered by this connection.

- 2PAL DMX controller

How the parts work together. This is a system overview, not a terminal wiring diagram.
02 / Get ready
Before you start
- Record the equipment model, controller generation and installed software version. Use the matching product manuals.
- Have a qualified installer isolate every relevant electrical supply and verify absence of voltage before opening equipment. Turning it off in the app does not isolate power.
- Have the installer record the DMX interface, network, channel order, zone count and required termination using the exact PAL instructions.
03 / One step at a time
Set it up
Connect the compatible DMX interface
Have the installer follow the PAL and Clyr instructions with supplies isolated. The clip shows the data connection on the demonstrated equipment. Match terminal functions on the actual units; do not treat wire color as a universal pinout.
PAL equipment example Follow the electrical-safety introduction and the DMX connection shown on the PAL controller and Clyr Nano. Compare your labels before using this example.
Open on YouTube Β· 1:03β3:23 βAdd PAL lighting in Clyr
Select the connected controller under Settings β Devices, then add DMX lighting. Set Model to PAL, enter a clear Name, and select the physical Network. Set the actual number of Zones and Channels per zone to match the installed RGB mapping. Do not add zones that are not wired.
PAL app setup Choose the DMX/PAL configuration and match it to the physical installation. Your current app may group these fields differently.
Open on YouTube Β· 3:23β4:10 βCheck the zones and primary colors
Select one zone at a time. Check red, green and blue individually, then turn the zone off. If one color activates another, resolve the channel mapping before building shows.
PAL commissioning Test the light response before creating an automatic schedule.
Open on YouTube Β· 4:10β4:30 βBuild a short show
Add a small number of deliberate color changes, preview the result, and check every included zone. Confirm the final state before using the show in a schedule or program.

04 / Prove the result
Check it works
A saved setting tells you what you requested. These checks tell you what the equipment actually did.
- Each zone controls only its intended lights.
- Red, green and blue match the requested colors.
- The show runs in the intended order without affecting unrelated equipment.
- OFF leaves the intended zones off.
05 / Find the next useful check
If something is wrong
The lights respond with the wrong color
Check RGB channel order and channels per zone against the PAL configuration. Changing the zone name will not fix a channel-order mismatch.
No zones respond
Check the actual DMX interface, selected network, wiring and termination with the installer. Confirm the PAL controller has power and is in the required mode.
